MEMBER: I thought it was rather fun. No one seemed very judgmental, just really helpful and kind. They still are.
I now think of singing as a gift and a risk. I have moved beyond mere fun...to have a conception of what I don’t know, and of how that affects the group as a whole...I didn’t understand the meaning of being a team player until I learned this. I have always worked in groups, but now I believe that I just did my own work in a group. It isn’t teamwork until you really have to depend on others for a measure of your success. That’s risk taking. - from Singing On A Team

You should be able to read music and/or should have experience in at least one other choir. If you don’t have this it would be to your benefit to take a basic choral skills class first. All members register with the SDCC district and are asked to commit to attending regular rehearsals. The directors, with the help of a steering committee, select a varied, diverse program of music each semester. It includes old standards, show tunes, contemporary, classical, gospel, inspirational and more.
